Alex has over twenty years of experience working in finance and investing, having worked as both principal and intermediary on transactions in real estate, hospitality, media and entertainment, and technology industries ranging from $20 Million to over $300 Million in size. Alex began his career at Disney, where he worked as an analyst in the filmed entertainment division. From there, he branched into international film finance, helping to found a production company and fund an initial slate of films.
After getting an MBA, Alex moved into private equity/venture capital where he consulted with variety of start-up and early stage companies to help them obtain financing. After a brief stint working as a bond portfolio analyst at a boutique asset management firm with over $1 Billion under management, Alex began working independently as an investment banker, gaining transactional experience in a variety of transaction types, including early-stage/venture equity investment, growth equity, balance sheet restructurings, and M&A transactions.
Leveraging his knowledge in real estate, Alex worked with ex-Carlyle Group executives on launching a merchant banking/syndication platform designed to provide cross-border investment opportunities for institutional/HWNI investors from emerging economies access to investment grade real estate in the US and Europe. Subsequently Alex worked at a Proptech start-up, Roofs Across America, which was a technology enabled platform to underwrite and acquire distressed single family homes in the wake of the 2009 financial crisis.
Alex graduated magna cum laude from Harvard in English Literature with a minor in Economics. He has an MBA from the University of California at Irvine with a focus in Finance.
